Bhakta Aarti Khosla Ji
There are different levels of vairagya… the more outward our behaviour & relationships, the deeper the boomerang effect!
The more ‘outter dependancy’, the more disillusioned you get & consequently, the greater the inner resolve…
Have you realized that? After the death of a loved one, you shun the outter world. It seems helpless. At such a time who would you go to?
You will find someone who knows the Shastras (Hindu scriptures) or try to find the answers in the Shastras yourself… the “why’s and where does a person go after death of the body, are questions that need satisfactory answers?”
The more dependent you are on the outside, the more you realize that it couldn’t do anything for you at a time like this.
This then has a boomerang effect which changes your thinking & now you start wanting answers to your questions at a deeper level.
How long this lasts & whether it gets translated into a permanent shift of consciousness is dependent on the level of your desire to recieve the SAT and consequently how much you absorb it. Basically your own free will.
How long does this period last?
The effect can stay. Outwardly, you can be doing exactly what you were doing earlier. This doesn’t mean that you now have to stay at home & read spiritual texts at all times. It means your inner value system has undergone a shift after a certain amount of VICHAR. The VAIRAGYA is now a permanent part of you.
